A relation between polarization and radiation characteristics of flexible dielectirc wavguide

(in English) This paper presents radiation characteristics of bended flexible dielectric waveguides when the millimeter wave signal propagating in the dielectric waveguide is entered into the boundary between the dielectrics of the waveguide and air on two different mode, TE-mode and TM-mode. Furthermore, the polarization of radiated millimeter wave is determined by choosing the one mode from these two modes. Measured results show that the radiation ratio on TE-mode is larger than that on TM-mode. This difference is considered to be observed by the difference on the reflection co-efficient at the boundary between two modes. Radiation patterns are measured at 33 GHz on both mode, and the results show that there is no significant difference in the radiation pattern at the bend radius of 10 cm.
