Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Recently, we designed a convex underwater acoustic lens for equipping in small AUV’s bow, and calculated its converged sound field by the finite difference time domain method (FDTD method). In the previous study, it was possible to improve converged sound pressure by correcting aberration and combining spherical and aspheric surfaces. In this study, we inserted acoustic matching layer of various thickness between the two medium for the 2 layers’ lens constructed with syntactic foam and fluorinert, and investigated the optimum thickness of the acoustic matching layer from the converged sound field calculated by FDTD method. The results showed that the converged sound pressure at the focal point was maximized at the thickness of 1/4 wavelength.
