Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Indoor target localization method using Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) radar technology has been proposed, but this method has a problem that the estimation accuracy of human location deteriorates as the distance from the antenna increases. This paper proposes a method to improve target localization accuracy by using multiple receiving stations. In this method, we calculate spectrum of all receiving station using the MUltiple SIgnal Classification (MUSIC) method and multiply them, thereby detecting the target localization with high accuracy. In order to confirm the effect of the proposed method, we carried out an experiment on target localization using 4 receiving stations. From the experimental results, it was found that the distance error improves by increasing the number of receiving stations from 1 to 4. The median distance error of experimental results showed that the localization accuracy with the phantom was 0.76 m with 1 station, and 0.22 m with 4 stations. The median distance error of experimental results showed that the human localization accuracy with the human subject was 1.00 m with 1 station, and 0.32 m with 4 stations. From these experimental results, it was confirmed that by increasing the number of receiving stations from 1to 4, the median distance error improves by 0.54 m and 0.68 m for the phantom and by human subject, respectively.
