A Method of Automatic Training Data Collection for Wearable Sensor-based Activity Recognition

(in English) In this paper, we target activities associated to objects in non-verbal communication activities and propose a method to automate the collection of training data for wearable sensor-based activity recognition. We specify the period when an object is used from a sensor attached to the object and then extract human’s sensor data in the corresponding period as a labeled training sample. In our experiment, as an example of non-verbal communication, we selected a scene where people discuss through a whiteboard in a meeting and recognize the activity of writing on the whiteboard. The effectiveness of our method is verified from the result that our model constructed from the training data collected by our method achieved almost the same accuracy as a model constructed from the training data collected by hand.
