Theoretical Analysis of System Capacity Performance in MU-MIMO THP

(in English) MU-MIMO Tomlinson-Harashima precoding (THP) achieves higher system capacity comparing with MU-MIMO linear precoding (LP) thanks to suppressing the noise enhancement. In MU-MIMO THP, modulo loss is caused by the modulo operation in relatively lower carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR), which degrades the transmission performance. In this report, we theoretically analyze the system capacity for MU-MIMO THP considering the impact of the modulo loss. The feature of the proposed analysis is to make use of the fact that the effect of the modulo loss can be represented by the mod-Λ channel. The theoretical results obtained by the proposed approach are compared with MU-MIMO LP with a parameter of the number of transmit/receive antennas, which clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of the adoption of THP in the presence of the modulo loss.
