A Study on Mobile Vehicle Earth Station in Motion and TCP Transmission Characteristics -- In case of WINDS --

(in English) When in regeneration mode, WINDS is capable of communicating at the maximum speed of 155Mbps. However, when it comes to TCP communications, the throughput tends to drop due to the influence of high-latency. As a way to deal with this issue, TCP congestion control method, which is known to handle latency issues well, is being proposed. Additionally, suggestions have been made to set the window size to be as large as possible to increase the throughput. On the other hand, when it comes to mobile vehicle earth stations, it is expected that the TCP communication could be further impacted due to the influence of shielding obstacles since it is the earth stations that are in motion. Therefore, in the present article, we will report on a basic study we have carried out regarding motion speed and TCP transmission characteristics using a mobile vehicle earth station designed for WINDS.
