A DNS amplification attack greatly affects not only the load of the target server but also the load of the networks on routes from multiple sources to a target server. In this research, we propose a method to mitigate the impact of the DDoS attack such as the rapid increase of traffic and the overload of the target server by applying the diffusion flow control which is the autonomous distributed control. In this paper, we describe the mitigation technique which autonomously diffuses the traffic among multiple carrier networks through which the amplification attack reaches the target server, and explain what kind of DDoS mitigation effect our proposed method provides. |
