Influence of secondary path characteristic changes on ANC systems for periodic noise and a countermeasure against the changes.

(in English) We investigated into malfunction caused by differences of characteristic between secondary paths and its models (modeling errors) on Active Noise Control (ANC) systems using Filtered-x LMS Algorithm, and invented a countermeasure against the malfunction. Especially, examination of ANC systems for single frequency noise was conducted particularly. First, we analyzed adaptation errors of adaptive filters caused by modeling errors theoretically, and considered the countermeasure against the adaptation errors. As a result of theoretical analysis, it was revealed that adaptive filters converged on optimum solutions despite existence of modeling errors if stability was retained. Therefore, robust ANC systems against modeling errors can be realized without deterioration of nose reduction performance by small additions of signal processing for keeping stability. In addition, both the results of the theoretical analysis and effectiveness of the countermeasure were confirmed by computer simulations that were executed by the same calculations as real ANC systems.
