| (in English) | Satellite communications have made remarkable progress and application services have been expanding in various areas. Successful development has been supported not only by research of new technologies but also by business planning and regulations. From these viewpoints, this presentation makes an overview of the development of satellite communications. Based on the analysis of development process, lessons learnt and subjects for further study are presented. As effective use of frequency spectrum and satellite orbit is essential for satellite communications, subjects for further research are presented with regard to performance objective, availability, and frequency sharing with other radio services. Importance is emphasized for international cooperation and competitiveness based on the solutions for these subjects. | |
