Transient Analysis of Wireless Power Transfer via Magnetic Resonance Coupling at Loosely Coupled Condition and Its Application to Soft Start Operation

(in English) A transfer function from an input voltage to an input current of wireless power transfer is characterized by resonance frequencies, quality factors, and coupling coefficient of a transmitter and receiver.
In this paper, the settling time of the system is estimated from the dominant pole of the transfer function and a rise time of the input voltage for a soft start operation is determined based on the analyzed settling time.
The simulations and experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and their results show a design trade-off between overshoot and settling time due to the voltage rise time.
