In this work, we investigate a LPWA communication system that combines the chirp spread spectrum (CSS) and M-ary FSK modulation. We consider the matched filter (MF) has an effective CSS demodulator. The computational complexity of M-bank MF array with outputting only the data decision point is equivalent to the one MF implementation. Moreover, by using the MF, it is possible to achieve timing synchronization with an accuracy higher than the symbol time, which makes it feasible to be applied to sensor networks that require stringent concurrency. Furthermore, in order to improve the spectral efficiency of the M-ary FSK, we investigate a multiplexing scheme that uses multiple chirp signals. By inserting a timing lag longer than the inverse of the bandwidth, it is possible to separate the overlapped signal, and we propose a multi-hop concurrent transmission scheme with CSS. |
