Three-dimensional Position Estimation Using Ellipse Approximation of the Magnetic Coupled Receiver

(in English) The magnetic resonance coupling (MRC) method has been attracting attention as a technique of wireless power transfer (WPT). The MRC method can feed with high transmission efficiency in the effective range of the antenna diameter.By arranging the transmitting coils using the MRC method on the floor, power can be supplied to the receiver anywhere in the room. However, it is uselessly consumed to use all the transmitting coils in an active state when the receiver is not near the transmitting coil. Therefore, simultaneous realization of WPT and position estimation is performed to solve this problem by performing sensing using the coil of the wireless power transmission system. This research is focused on the three-dimensional position estimation of a power receiver using the magnetic field coupling between the resonators. In this paper, we propose a three-dimensional position estimation method using the fact that the isogram of the coupling coefficient value between the resonators becomes elliptical at the elevation angle, and conducted three-dimensional position estimation evaluation by simulation.
