Vibration Suppression Control of Free-fixed Euler-Bernoulli Beams via a Blending Method of Discrete Mechanics and Nonlinear Optimization

(in English) This research develops a new control method for free-fixed Euler-Bernoulli beams based on a blending method of discrete mechanics and nonlinear optimization. First, discrete Euler-Lagrange equations and discrete boundary equations are derived under the assumption on free boundary conditions as fundamental equations of motions for systems in discrete mechanics. Next, for a discrete mechanics model with control inputs, a finite-dimensional nonlinear optimal control problem is formulated by setting an objective function, and it is shown that a optimal control inputs can be obtained by solving the optimal control problem with the sequential quadratic programming method. Then, the proposed control method is applied to a vibration suppression problem of free-fixed Euler-Bernoulli beams, and it turns out that the vibration of the beam is suppressed and the whole of the beam is stabilized at the desired time from the results of numerical simulations.
