Analysis of Flood Area in Colombia at the end of March 2017 using ALOS-2 Polarimetric Data

(in English) Flooding occurs around the world, and various damage has been reported. It is important to survey flooded area as soon as possible for quick rescue. However, on-site survey by personnel is dangerous due to second damage. Polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) is one of the effective tools for monitoring flooded area. It can observe regardless of day and night and weather, provide high resolution images over wide area, and also provide various information using polarization. PolSAR mounted on ALOS-2 has acquired a lot of data over the world. In this paper, we analyzed PolSAR data before and after flooding. It was confirmed that PolSAR is useful to monitor flooded area.
