A Prototype Visible Light V2V Communication and Ranging System Using Spread Spectrum Techniques (2nd Report)

(in English) In this paper we describe an advanced visible light boomerang prototype on circuit board, further verifying the feasibility of the previously reported system for higher speeds and extended distance communication. The prototype uses visible light communication via LED and photodiodes, with direct-sequence spread spectrum techniques. At the receiving section, light was focused using a lens unit. In experiments, we focused on 2 scenarios: transmitter with lens and transmitter without lens, observing system signals using oscilloscope. Results confirm that communication with lens by the advanced prototype system at a distance of 20m is possible.
