An Optimization Method for Automotive Engine Control Parameters Using Gradient Methods

(in English) In this study, we address a problem to obtain optimum control parameters by computing an inverse image of the target output value using a function, called RBF approximate function, that models a part of behavior of automobile engines by linear combination of radial basis functions (RBFs). To efficiently search optimum control parameters, we propose a constrained optimization method using gradient methods and the Newton method. Experimental results show that the proposed method can efficiently find optimum control parameters for RBFs targeted in this study.
