100G optical transport network is now consisted of single-carrier optical transponders. In order to increase the capacity and transmission speed, beyond 100G (400G/1T) optical transport network will be consisted of multi-carrier optical transponders. In the multi-carrier optical transponders, the degradation of reliability in network is concerned because multiple optical modules with high failure rate are used. Though we previously proposed method for the improvement of failure rate of transponder in optical transport network, we report the study about evaluation and application range of proposed method. |
