he electrical network frequency (ENF) criterion is used to address
digital audio authentication. The ENF fluctuates in the range of
$pm 0.1 %$ around the nominal ENF of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. The ENF
criterion is based on extracting the hum noise from an audio
recording and matching the extracted frequency fluctuation to a
reference database to determine the authenticity and time of the
recording. However, in adversarial environments, anti-forensic
operations which removes the hum noise by the notched filter and
adds an alien hum signal may be conducted to manipulate ENF-based
time stamps. The previous research revealed that statistical
measures based on the magnitude spectra around ENF were efficient to
detect such forgery. This paper proposes a novel method of the hum
noise removal and addition of an alien AC (alternative current)
signal to disguise the previous method of forgery detection. Also, a
countermeasure of the proposed anti-forensic operation is discussed,
based on statistical properties of the residual components which are
generated by the de-hum operation. |
