In recent years, the high intensity ultrasound equipment has increased in both medical and industrial filed. Therefore, we have proposed high intensity ultrasound source system by using a cylindrical acoustic waveguide and a concave transducer. It is aimed at the development of ultrasound source which is able to transmit high intensity ultrasound waves for absolute calibrations for receiving sensitivity of hydrophones. Furthermore, we constructed the experimental ultrasound source system using the concave transducer and the cylindrical acoustic waveguide which was fabricated by considering material selection and cutting methods of closed cell type sponge. The spatial distributions of acoustic pressure on central axis and lateral axis for our fabricated ultrasound source were measured, it was found that the acoustic pressure distributions were similar between measured results and simulated results using axisymmetric three-dimensional acoustic filed simulation by finite element method, in particular, measured and simulated -6 dB main beam width was matched within 15%. In this paper, acoustic pressure of 670 kPa was confirmed at position 10 mm from transmitting aperture on the central axis. |
