Abstract To obtain a flow of heat (temperature) Fourier introduced the Fourier series as a solution of the diffusion equation. It is efficient tool in physics, engineering, etc.. On the one-dimensional diffusion equation with boundary conditions of value or tilt 0, ordinary Harmonic Fourier series ( HFS) appears. A solution is presented by linear combination of the fundamental wave and harmonic waves.
Anharmonic Fourier series (AHFS) described here, appear by changing a little bit of boundary conditions. AHFS is in coupling not in harmony with all waves. AHFS is often used in physics however in the information engineering it is not like. I think that no knowledge about whether or not they can approximate what function is one of the reasons. Here, AHFS indicating that can approximate the continuous functions with examples. A cos series, we found, approximate f(x)=1. |
