| (in English) | We have developed an hearing impairment simulator (HI simulator) which provides an opportunity for a normal-hearing listener to experience the loss of a particular hearing-impairment listener. It would be useful for normal hearing listeners including speech-and-hearing therapists (STs) to understand the difficulty in hearing problems of elderly persons who have hearing loss. In this paper, we describe the background and introduction of our HI simulator and report the results on the use of HI simulator in a university course for STs. We also show a new web-based HI simulator widely usable without any stressful software installation. | |
