Analysis of chaotic dynamical systems using the projection-operator method

We aim to verify by theoretical development and numerical experiments of
a method to associate the transport coefficient appearing in a
nonlinear nonequilibrium phenomenon such as a dissipative structure
with a transport phenomenon by chaos or turbulence and combining it
with a deterministic equation of a dynamical system.
Concretely, applying the projection operator method to the nonlinear
deterministic equation of the dynamical system that generates chaos and
turbulence, we derive a linear evolution equation with the memory
function $gamma(t)$ including the fluctuating force and the collective
oscillation frequency $Omega_0$, and then the transport coefficient is
obtained from a memory function appearing as a time correlation
function of the fluctuating force.
In this study, we adopted the Duffing oscillator as a typical low
dimensional chaotic dissipative dynamical system and adopted the
H'enon-Heiles system as a typical of the conservation dynamical system
to derive the relationship between the memory function spectrum and the
power spectrum. |
