| (in English) | In recent years, Internet flaming has increased and its impact is not only in virtual space but also in real society. This paper focuses on three hypotheses regarding the correlation between the tendency to participate in praise-type flaming and the tendency to participate in victimization-type flaming. These three hypotheses are: 1) there is a correlation between the tendency to participate in praise-type flaming and the tendency to participate in victimization-type flaming; 2) there is a correlation between the tendency to participate in praise-type flaming and specific psychological tendencies; and 3) there is a correlation between the tendency to participate in victimization-type flaming and specific psychological tendencies. A questionnaire survey to test the above three hypotheses is conducted. The psychological items potentially related to a tendency to participate in the two types of flaming are: feeling of loneliness, impulsiveness, self-efficacy, desire for recognition(frustration), and feelings of satisfaction. The statistical method used to analyze the collected survey data is cross-tabulation. Odds ratios are calculated as index and chi-squared tests are carried out to examine the hypotheses. Based on the analysis, all three hypotheses were confirmed. |
