The algebraic connectivity of a network, which is defined as the second smallest eigenvalue of the Laplacian matrix, is a measure that represents how well the network is connected. Yang et al. proposed a pseudo-decentralized algorithm for agents in a network to estimate the algebraic connectivity, and proved the validity under a certain condition on the parameters. Their method is a continuous-time algorithm described by a system of differential equations. However, if we want to implement an algebraic connectivity estimation method by digital circuits, a discrete-time algorithm is needed. In this report, we focus our attention on a discrete-time version of the method proposed by Yang et al. and examine the validity through theoretical analysis and numerical experiments. |
