Performance Evaluation of Digital Beamforming by Indoor and Outdoor Propagation Experimental Results for 5G Massive MIMO in Low SHF Band

(in English) The fifth-generation (5G) mobile communication systems introduces Massive MIMO for super high bit rate and large system capacity. In low SHF-band, fully digital Massive MIMO which can operate higher accuracy beamforming (BF) can be applied early because of narrower bandwidth in comparison with high SHF-band. Joint processing of digital fixed BF and channel state information (CSI)-based precoding (digital FBCP) is proposed as one of the fully digital methods, and effectiveness of digital FBCP have been shown by computer simulations. In this paper, to apply digital FBCP in actual environments, we try out indoor and outdoor propagation experiments to obtain actual propagation data by using fully digital Massive MIMO. Moreover, this paper shows an effectiveness of digital FBCP on actual environments by computer simulations using actual propagation data.
