Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
CHILL(Colorado State University–University of Chicago–Illinois State Water Survey : CSU–CHILL)を用いた.

Abstract Calibration of weather radar is necessary to accurately calculate precipitation. However, it is difficult to accurately and uniformly calibrate the weather radar. Therefore, we examined the calibration method for the ground weather radar using Global Precipitation Measurement/Dual-frequency Precipitation Radar (GPM/DPR) in order to calibrate the ground weather radar homogeneously and accurately. We used phased array weather radar (PAWR) developed by this research group and Colorado State University’s weather radar CHILL(Colorado State University–University of Chicago–Illinois State Water Survey : CSU–CHILL) for the examination of the calibration method by comparing with GPM / DPR. We compared PAWR’s precipitation data and CHILL’s precipitation data with GPM/DPR when their observation range overlapped. As a result of applying the proposed method, we achieved an average error of observation values within 1.0 [dB].
In this research, it was suggested that calibration within the calibration target value of within 1.0 [dB] is possible.
