To realize single photon detection with a high time resolution using superconducting nanowire single-photon detector (SSPD), we propose a new evaluation method of timing jitter based on timing discriminator using single flux quantum (SFQ) circuit. We designed timing discriminator based on SFQ comparator circuit and evaluated the timing jitters both with and without interface circuit to convert output signals of SSPD into SFQ pulses. Experimentally evaluated timing jitter of SFQ comparator was very small as around 1 ps, and overall timing jitter of timing discriminator including the interface circuit was found to be below 10 ps for the input pulse amplitude of more than 20 A. |
