Error characteristics acquisition for improving depth sensor measurement accuracy

(in English) In manufacturing, distortion measurement is one of the quality inspections of various processed components, and the need for fully automated 3D measurement systems is increasing. Especially, highly accurate measurement techniques are required to detect the subtle distortions. For the low-cost and easy-to-use depth sensors with relatively low measurement accuracy, we propose a method for compensating the measurements by considering their error characteristics. The error characteristics can be obtained in advance by using the objects whose ground-truth measurements or approximate shapes are known. The validity of the error characteristics is evaluated by comparing the measurement compensation results.
