Long-term monitoring system of heart rate variability for intensive care unit

(in English) The long-term and real-time recording and analysis of vital signs of a patient in the intensive care unit (ICU) are expected as a support for medical staffs in order to estimate a patient's prognosis. For instance, by evaluating various heart rate variability (HRV) parameters, it may be helpful to assess the change of patient’s condition according to long-term trends of HRV parameters. In some case, it can be used as feedback for providing suitable medical treatment. For the purpose of the long-term recording and analysis, a reliable system is needed. In this manuscript, we have built a long-term monitoring and recording system for HRV, which can execute continuously for a long time to record and analyze many patients’ data in real time. Then, we have examined the usefulness of system in the laboratory and hospital.
