The possibility of communication based on changes in relationship between fluctuations in cerebral blood volume (CBV) and heart rate (HR) etc. was examined. The relationship was evaluated by Granger causality based on multivariate autoregressive model. Differences in the relationship among fluctuations in CBV, HR and EEG amplitude were found little between healthy and ALS patient subjects. Moreover, trials of Yes/No answer based on changes in the relationship between fluctuations in CBV and HR gave separation ratio 94% and revealed the applicability of this method. |
