The SNS communications among the teammates in the online game development project were analysed using team based work. The project tasks were performed by an Arabic team, a Japanese team, and an International team; each team implemented its game for 3 consecutive weeks by reflecting feedback from the each other teams. The total number of the participants were 12, and communication using SNS among the team members and the participants' learning reflection were analysed. The discussions and communications via social media of each group were categorized as: Proposal, Permission, Encouragement, and Acknowledgment using protocol analysis. The transitions of categorized communication in terms of time series and the relationships among the teams and the cycles were examined. Also, we investigated the types of discussions and communication among the team members and their members that were the most important for progressively better results in terms of the learning reflection.
As a result, the learning satisfaction is influenced by the contents and frequencies of communication contents. In addition, we concluded that Proposal was the most influential on the learning reflection in terms of self-efficacy, satisfaction, and achievement. Based on these results, we proposed these analyses as one of the methodology to investigate SNS communications. |
