Approximation of Multitask System Specification by Task Merging for Efficiency Improvement of Performance Verification

(in English) In the development of embedded software which requires high reliability satisfaction and performance of hard requirements for both computing resource, it is useful to model the system’s behavior under specific computing resources and verify whether the system meet the performance requirements in the design phase of development. So far, we have proposed a performance verification method using behavioral specifications of multitasking embedded software (hereinafter referred to as multitasking behavioral specifications) where multiple tasks are invoked in order according to a given control structure. In this method, since the performance verification problem is solved by reducing the problem into the reachability analysis of Petri net, verification time becomes enormous and it becomes difficult to verify when applied to large specifications. In this paper, we propose a method to approximate multitasking behavioral specifications in order to improve the performance verification. In the proposed method, the scale of a multitasking behavioral specification is reduced by merging two tasks into one task the efficiency of the performance verification can be improved by verifying the reduced multitasking behavioral specification.
