Classification of In-week and -day Patterns of Ambulatory Activity Using a Hierarchical Topic Model and Interpolation of Step Counts in Missing Days

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this study, we extract in-week and -day patterns of ambulatory activity based on hourly recorded step counts. A hierarchical topic model with in-week patterns as super-topics and in-day patterns as sub-topics is applied to hourly recorded step counts per week, regarded as a bag of words. In addition, we propose a method to interpolate step counts and activity patterns in missing days by fitting the estimated topics.
