A Method for Converting Esoteric Phrases to Plain Expressions Considering Compound Words

(in English) In recent years, realization of an intelligent computer capable of smooth communication with a person is required, and conversation ability is required for the computer. Therefore, there is a method of using a newspaper article as a resource and embedding the expression contained in the article into the conversation template. However, there are differences in the depth of familiarity expressions used for expressing newspaper articles and in conversation, which is inappropriate for use as it is. In this paper, we consider a compound words and propose a method to convert esoteric phrases to plain expressions suitable for conversation.
