A Method of Fast Detection of Alternative Route under Unknown Failure on SDN Network

(in English) In the network, the unknown failure which is hard to reproduce is well-known, and it is called silent failure.Although such a failure must be restored quickly. It is difficult and requires long time to identify the failure point, because there are many factors in a silent failure.In this paper, we suggest a method of high-speed alternate route configuration using an alternate route. We consider that identifing the failure point is not always necessary for the route restoration, and use functions of SDN which enables flexible route setting and measurement easily.We show that a proposed method can reduce alternative route setting time by computer simulation in different topologies, and consider the adaptation domain.
