Experimental Evaluation of Transmission Timing Control for QZSS Short Message Synchronized SS-CDMA Communication

(in English) We have proposed synchronized spread-spectrum code-division multiple-access (SS-CDMA) communication for location and short message system using Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) as a safety confirmation system at the time of great disaster.
In this communication, each user terminal calculates a distance to correspondent satellite and controls the transmission timing using satellite positioning signal in order to synchronize the satellite arrival timing of the uplink signals.
In this paper, we measure the terminal time deviation and propagation delay error caused by the position error at the same time and evaluate the satellite arrival timing error of the uplink signal.
By this measurement, it is shown that the satellite arrival timing error of 50 ns can be achieved with 99.98% of terminals.
This result shows that it is possible to accommodate terminals at high density.
