A Study of Transmission Performance Improvement of OFDM-Based Optical Wireless Communications

(in English) Current optical wireless communications systems use intensity modulation / direct detection (IM/DD), thus the baseband signal must be real and positive. In asymmetrically clipped optical OFDM (ACO-OFDM), a real OFDM signal can be generated by modulating only odd subcarriers with Hermitian symmetry. In this paper, we propose a maximum likelihood detection for channel state information estimation signals. We also report symbol timing synchronization performance and experimental results using light-emitting diodes (LEDs).
