[Poster Presentation] GPU Implementation of Blur-Based Object Detection Using Spatial Domain Filtering

(in English) We proposed a novel object detection scheme based on image blur evaluated
by Haar-like Features and DFT.
The scheme shows excellent detection accuracy but
computation speed of it is quite slow. To improve the computation speed,
we proposed faster scheme using only spatial domain filtering instead
of time consuming DFT. The newer scheme improved computation speed
drastically but real-time cannot be achieved. To solve this problem,
this paper proposes a parallel implementation of the object detection
scheme based on image blur using only spatial domain filtering on a GPU.
Experimental results using synthesized images showed about 290 times
faster processing speed without accuracy degradation.
