| (in English) | This study clarifies the personal characteristics and other factors that relate to the psychological damage of cyberbullying on high school students to gather basic data for cyberbullying risk assessment among high school students. We conducted a questionnaire survey of about 500 first-year and second-year high school students and about 240 parents of first-year students. The results revealed that the strength of students’ susceptibility to rejection (i.e., their “uncertainty or expectation of rejection in interpersonal relationships” and “likelihood of getting angry or striking back against rejection”) and the magnitude of their sense of “being a victim of bullying” were related to the psychological damage caused by cyberbullying. Furthermore, the strength of their tendency to depend on mobile phones and the strength of a given student’s “tendency to dwell on things” as estimated by his or her parents were related to the psychological damage caused by cyberbullying. | |
