Charge transfer state of Eu3+ centers activated in (La, Gd)-O-F-S and Y-Si-O-N

(in English) Novel red emitting phosphors having a blue excitation and a red emission due to charge transfer state (CTS) of Eu3+ centers have been synthesized. The wavelength region of the CTS excitation band strongly depends on the iconicity / covalency degree of the host materials. In this study, we have systematically investigated the Eu3+ CTS energy in the (La, Gd)-O-F-S and Y-Si-O-N based phosphors. It has been found the strong correlation between the coordination environment around Eu3+ centers and the absorption wavelength range of the CTS. In addition, it has been also found that the band gap energy of the host materials correlates well with the CTS energy.
