Joint Mode Selection and Resource Allocation for Device To Device Communication Overlaying Cellular Network

(in English) In device to device (D2D) overlaying cellular network, the performance of the networks strongly depends on the fraction of network bandwidth dedicated to D2D communication. Beside, since each D2D pair can operate in either overlaying mode or cellular mode, we also can improve the performance of the networks by carefully selecting the operation mode for each D2D pair. In this paper, we study the bandwidth allocation problem and mode selection problem to maximize the network utility in D2D overlaying cellular network. We show that the optimal fraction of bandwidth allocated to the D2D communication should be equal to the ratio of number overlaying D2D pair and total user in the networks. Each D2D pairs should select the mode which can maximize its throughput. The simulation results confirm the effectiveness of our approach to improve the total throughput of network.
