Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we propose a group theoretic representation suitable for the rank-modulation rewriting codes for flash memories. This representation is based on an action of the group of all permutation matrices on a set of permutations, and enables us to formulate an upper bound on the information capacity of codes. Moreover, we provide an example of code that is not available by conventional approach and has the information capacity that can not be achieved by conventional codes.
