| (in English) | When writing a fantasy novel about a fictitious world, the author needs to describe the geography to let readers imagine the world view. But it is difficult for an author to reflect complicated geographical relationships between terrains in her/his novel, e.g., "a river flows into a sea, and near the sea, a sandy beach is made of the sand carried by the river." Therefore, this paper proposes a novel system that generates a graphical map from a textual document automatically by extracting Geo-words and Bearing-words from the document and parameterizing them (detecting geographic objects and setting their bearing). Furthermore, to enable the system to complement the peripheral geographic objects that can be inferred from the type of relationship between the detected geographic objects, this paper also proposes a geographic complementing algorithm based on actual mutual influence between terrains in the real world. | |
