A study on EXIT chart-based characteristic analysis in chaos MIMO transmission scheme using STBC and LDPC code

(in English) Chaos multiple-input multiple-output (C-MIMO) scheme has physical layer security and enables high quality transmission. In this system, the further performance improvement has been obtained by concatenating outer channel code and by introducing an iterative decoding with turbo-coded transmission. However, while a strong coding gain is obtained, the deterioration in the error rate characteristic at low SNR region is a problem to be solved. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an application of space time block code (STBC) to C-MIMO with outer channel code concatenation, and evaluate the effectiveness by EXIT chart. As a result, it is found from EXIT chart that the degradation of BER performance at lower SNR is reduced, compared to the outer channel concatenating C-MIMO without STBC under the same channel condition and almost the same transmission efficiency. This improvement comes from both diversity effect by STBC and error correction capability by outer channel code.
