[Invited Lecture] Key Technologies Towards 5G -- Standardization Angle --

(in English) The 5G system has been studied in standardization organizations such as 3GPP. Some key technologies have been identified to support multiple use case scenarios (eMBB, mMTC, URLLC), as well as different deployments at various frequency ranges. There are some obvious novel technologies that will be introduced with respect to the air interfaces, e.g. mmWave, massive MIMO, optimized QoS support, multi-connectivity; and those related to core network technologies, such as bearerless communication, network slicing, NFV, mobile edge computing and distributed mobility management. While these new technologies will be very diverse and applied to all domains of a mobile network, they must also be harmonized. The real challenge is to develop 5G as one system of systems that can meet all these requirements invisibly from the user’s perspective. This lecture provides overview of key technologies towards 5G especially from standardization angle.
