[Poster Presentation] A Study of High-Speed RGB-LED Driver using Carrier Sweeping out for Visible Light Communications

(in English) Recently, light emitting diodes (LED) are commonly used as a lighting devices.
LEDs have lots of advantages, such as high efficiency, longer life and high response.
Particularly, the high response of LEDs can realize visible light communications (VLCs).
VLC is a wireless communication technology using visible region light.
The transmission rate is limited by responce time of the LEDs due to the low modulation speed of the LEDs.
Therefore, for the high-speed transmission of the VLCs,
modulation scheme with high spectral efficiency and a high speed LED driver is necessary.
As an modulation system with high modulation scheme, digital color shift keying (DCSK) has been reported.
It is considered only by simulation that for the higher transmission rate of the DCSK.
In contrast, high speed LED driver with carrier sweep out has been reported.
Modulation speed of LEDs are improved by shortening fall time and this circuit can be integrated.
But the circuit were evaluated in only with blue LED.
In this paper, we produced an integrated circuit (IC) by using ROHM 0.18~$mu m$ CMOS process and the IC has plural LED drivers.
Using the IC and commercial RGB-LEDs, we measured BER with each color and measured SER by a transmission experiment of DCSK
As a result, BER properties improved in all RGB colors and improvement of SER by the DCSK transmission experiment was seen.
