A PON-ONU power saving scheme is one of the most important problems for the widely introduced FTTH infrastructures. We have been investigating the performance of our proposed ONU power saving scheme using packet monitoring functions. This time, emulation experiments with OpenvSwitch framework were performed and the efficient power saving effects were confirmed. The reduction factors of power consumption were also evaluated using Web access models with assumed access intervals of Poisson distributions. |
