Basic Study on Wavelength Dependece of Optical Power Feeding Efficiency

(in English) In recent years, optical power feeding has been proposed as a new power feeding method.
In the optical power feeding method, electromagnetic interference does not occur in the transmission path as compared with the method using electrical wiring and electromagnetic waves.
It is necessary for practical application to improve conversion efficiency and transmission efficiency.
Because light can propagate in the atmosphere, optical wireless power feeding can also be realized. Therefore, optical power feeding is expected as power supply to places where power supply was difficult in the conventional power supply method and realization of new application.
We evaluated the wavelength dependence of light source, optical transmission line and photodetector. As a result of the analysis, we obtained the system efficiency of maximum 26% in the air transmission and the maximum 22% in the optical fiber propagation under the condition of energy conversion efficiency of the light source 50%, wavelength of 940,nm, FWHM of 1,meV.
