Ferro-electric liquid crystal (FLC) materials have the high speed response time of sub-milliseconds. In addition, FLC materials have memory effect, they eliminate a state-sustaining voltage. We proposed tunable wavelength filters using FLC-loaded Si3N4 waveguides with distributed Bragg reflectors (DBRs). The prototype Si3N4 waveguide resonators with DBRs were fabricated. The measured wavelength characteristics of the fabricated devices were also reported. |
