On the PIN-diode based reconfigurable grating in the microwave regime

(in English) We propose a dynamically tuning grating in the microwave regime, which was realized via an array of metallic stripes incorporated with PIN diodes. The grating was claimed by other authors to be desirable in both the designs of agile reflectors and antenna radomes. In this paper, spectral characteristics of the grating are investigated. It is found that transmission and reflection spectra drifted dramatically as the PIN diodes are biased. The result is in agreement with the previous studies. We suggest that the change of conductivity of those PIN diodes changes the current distribution mode upon the stripes. However, a more accurate model needs to be constructed further.
